Discourse of Belarusian state YouTube channels in November 2023

Analysis

Based on the data from regular monitoring of Belarusian YouTube channels, a list of thirteen channels controlled by the current Belarusian government was prepared.


Then all posts published in November 2023 were aggregated. Their number amounted to 314. The graph shows a word cloud of the words used in the titles of these posts:

The word Lukashenko was used most frequently – 64 times, followed by Belarus(ian) – 59 times, Ukraine – 35 times, CSTO – 23 times. Elections were mentioned 19 times.
They collected a total of about 255,000 views:

Breakdown by country: elections* (Belarus) – 12 times, Ukraine – 3 times, Poland – 2 times, the Netherlands and Argentina once each. An example of a podcast (Sic!), dedicated to the Polish parliamentary elections, which took place in October 2023:

The number of views (listens) was less than six thousand for the past month since the date of publication. The topic of elections in Ukraine is accompanied by a disinformation narrative: “No negotiations – no elections! Zelensky clings to power and postpones presidential elections in Ukraine.” The video is accompanied by the following visualization:

Over the month, this post gathered 47 thousand views. It can be assumed that in the run-up to the Belarusian elections*, the number of materials will increase, so the analysis of the discourse will continue.
