FactCheck.BY is part of the information resilience initiative of the Digital Skills Coalition Belarus. The Coalition was established in 2020 by the Baltic Internet Policy Initiative and the Association “New Group” within the framework of the Belarusian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.
Center for Strategic Communications and Fact-Checking FactCheck.BY is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that specializes in combating disinformation and propaganda.
Our mission is to help create a more informed and resilient society, strengthen democratic institutions, protect human rights, and promote social justice by providing access to reliable and verified information.
Our goal is to provide information transparency and stimulate public dialogue by providing verified information and reliable analytics
Our tasks:
- Recognition and analysis of disinformation.
- Increasing awareness and resistance to disinformation among journalists and media professionals and all interested parties
- Introducing innovative tools to automate fact-checking processes, making it easier to debunk false information quickly and accurately.
- Establishing partnerships with media, academia, and technology companies to collaborate on projects aimed at countering disinformation.
Activities:
- Development and support of an online platform that allows users to check the accuracy of information and access a database of verified facts.
- Training: webinars, master classes and media literacy courses.
- Research projects in the field of disinformation and propaganda, publishing reports and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Support journalists and media organizations in fact-checking and developing content that counters disinformation.
